A Class Trip to Ranthambore and Jaipur
13 November 2006 to 18 November 2006 |
The class embarked on the
trip by the Jaipur super fast express. We
alighted at Sawai Madhopur railway station
in the morning at 10 o'clock and took an air-conditioned
bus to 'Tiger Wood Resort' at Ranthambore.
After a quick shower and a healthy lunch,
we left for evening tiger safari in two canters.
On our return a small bonfire was arranged
accompanied by Rajasthani folk music and a
puppet show, the day being 14th Nov, Children's
Day.
Early next morning, we again left for a morning
jungle safari. The experience of driving through
the jungle and experiencing the sights and
sounds of nature was an experience in itself.
We came back to our cottages, had our lunch
and left for Jaipur the same day by bus. It
was almost 5 o'clock in the evening when we
reached Jaipur. We were delayed due to heavy
traffic. The children were provided accommodation
at 'Maharani Palace Hotel' with four of them
in a room. After a late lunch, shower and
a power point presentation by tour operator
about the history of Jaipur, we left for Choki
Dhani around 7.30 P.M. It was an exhilarating
experience to blend with Rajasthani culture
and get a taste of traditional Rajasthani
food. We retired to bed after a healthy, filling
and nutritious dinner.
We had a sight seeing trip of city palace,
Jaipur, in the morning. In the evening we
went to visit the magnificent Jantar-mantar,
the museum and the abode of the present maharaja.
We were lucky to get a glimpse of the present
king, Shri Bhavani Singh. After a hectic day
out we were treated to lovely food and were
rejuvenated by a live music concert of ghazals.
On the day of our return journey, we visited
the Birla temple and a famous Ganesh temple
in the morning. The guides provided did an
excellent job of imparting information at
Ranthambore and Jaipur. A beautiful journey
did come to an end but its memories will be
cherished forever.
