Jamnagar Trip

One hundred and eleven sixth and seventh standard DAIS students and their teachers enjoyed an educational class trip to Reliance Industries Limited Refinery Complex, Jamnagar and Narara Bet Marine National Park from 13th April to 17th April.

The Reliance Jamnagar refinery is the largest grass root refinery in the world and includes a world-class port and jetty facilities and 2000 acres of green belt area with over 3 million trees and the largest mango orchard in the world. Narara Bet is on the Arabian Sea and contains varied marine life including live coral colonies and birds such as flocks of flamingos.

The trip began with an overnight train ride to Jamnagar. After arrival, the first day was spent at the Reliance complex and township where students toured a variety of facilities. The second day was spent at Narara Bet where students had the opportunity to view crabs, sea anemone, sea cucumbers, coral and sponges in their natural habitat. That evening the students were treated to a magic show and had an opportunity to present a few skits of their own. On the last morning, there was a visit to the Greenbelt where students saw forests of hardwood, mango trees and greenhouses full of flowers and vegetables. This was followed by a visit to the Reliance jetty where huge ships bring in crude oil and take out refinery products. Then it was back to the train station for a fun-filled trip back to Mumbai.

The trip was a great learning experience and an enjoyable time for both students and teachers.
