| INAUGURAL
AWARDS CEREMONY
AT DHIRUBHAI AMBANI INTERNATIONAL
SCHOOL - 2004-2005
Friday 1st April 2005 was a red-letter day
in the lives of many of our students. This
was the day when we honoured the outstanding
work of individual students and highlighted
the importance of good leadership qualities
by awarding them certificates of appreciation.
We are very proud of these students who have
set high academic standards and shown strong
leadership qualities. However we acknowledge
here the efforts of all students who have
also tried and wish them good luck for the
next academic year.
For the primary school, awards being given
out were basically in 2 groups, namely, awards
for High Academic Achievement and awards for
Outstanding Citizenship (shown good leadership
qualities).
The achievement awards were further broken
up into 2 categories:
1. Academic Honour Roll and 2. Academic Merit
Roll
Leadership awards, called Citizenship awards
were awarded to those students of Stds. III
& IV who have shown extraordinary leadership
qualities and have been cooperative, responsible,
respectful, caring, punctual and well -behaved
throughout the year. The students have been
selected for awards after detailed discussion
with all teachers who have interacted with
them.
Academic Honour Roll awards were given out
to those students who achieved all 1s (ones)
in all academic subjects including Hindi in
at least 3 Grade cards for Stds. III and in
at least 2 Grade cards for Std. IV; whereas
Academic Merit Roll awards were given out
to those students who achieved all 1s(ones)
in at least 3 Grade Cards for Stds. III &
IV, except in HINDI.
Secondary school announced a number of awards
for their section.
Their 'Highest Academic Award" went to
those students who secured highest marks/grade
in five academic subjects during the entire
year.
Their citizenship award was given out to
those students who excelled and showed high
leadership qualities, respect, accountability,
caring, sports, participated and excelled
in inter house and inter school activities.
IBD announced 2 awards for Year 12 students.
It was the Head's Award for Contribution to
the School and the Head girl Karishma Rawtani
and Headb oy Om Dhumatkar were the recipients
of this special award. Other awards for Year
12 are being given out at a separate assembly
on 12 April and some on Graduation day. Year
11 will receive their awards in July.
We would further like to add here that in
the near future, more awards will be announced
which will be for those students who have
excelled in individual subjects during the
last academic year, for those who have put
in consistent effort and for those students
who have put in 100% attendance.
