Integration
Programme Class V
|

The Integration Programme for standard five
this year was spread over the month of July
with ‘COLOURS’ as the big idea.
Each subject got identified with a colour,
a theme, a song and a lyric. Lessons transformed
into poetry, dance and drama and learning
became exciting and colourful.
The presentation was divided into two parts.
The first part consisted of the performance
by the students. Here the language and the
science teachers had integrated the theme
into poetry, songs and dramatisation. The
world of colours was also depicted by the
yoga and the P.E. performance.
In English, the students travelled to the
rainbow land where they witnessed the victory
of the WHITE TRUTH over the dark and dreary
world of untruth. This was preceded by the
Ribbon dance which added a degree of elegance
to the performance highlighting the integration
of all the seven colours of the rainbow to
form the colour white.
In Science, the students explored the story
of evolution of life through different colours.
The Olympic Rings were depicted by the P.E.
performance where the representation of each
continent was brought out by the relevant
coloured ring and the national sport.
The ‘Gunas’ which dominate over
each individual were represented by different
colours through the Yoga performance. It showed
the role of colours in shaping a persons disposition
and personality.
The Hindi Quawali and the Marathi song helped
everyone get a colorful picture of our traditions
and Indian culture.
The Choir group presented a song on the Rainbow
colours where the role of every colour in
our life was highlighted.
The performance concluded with a heart warming
song ‘We are the world’ by all
the students of class five.
In the second session the parents were invited
to join the students at the stalls where students
had displayed the work done by them in various
subjects over the last month.
Every stall reflected the colourful themes
that each subject teacher had made the students
work on. The Language stalls had beautiful
poems written by student related to the colours.
The Maths integrated fractions and pictographs
with colours. The Science stalls highlighted
the different species of flora and fauna with
different colours. They also displayed experiments
related to colour changes and made samples
of cloth dyed with natural coloured dyes.
The History stall came alive with students
dressed as famous personalities down the ages.
The Geography stall displayed the theme ‘Colours
of the world’ wherein the different
animal species around the world and their
adaptations and camouflage through colours
was displayed. The Art stall showcased the
colourful murals made by all the students.
