IB
Results 2005
The IBD final results were
published in July for our first batch of candidates,
the Class of 2005. The scores were completely
in keeping with the superb list of university
and college offers received earlier, some
of which were dependent upon these results.
During the two-year course,
central themes have been the exceptional quality
of our IB students and the caliber of our
faculty, within the setting of a very positive
learning environment. The various phases of
the programme and achievements of students
in a wide range of activities contributed
to the highest of expectations, which were
met and validated in July.
With 57 candidates entered,
the average total was 36 points out of a maximum
possible 45, well above international averages
for the world, and a truly remarkable achievement.
Not only that, but 13 candidates earned over
40 points!
As regards individual subjects
- entries were made for 25 subjects, and in
21 the DAIS average was considerably better
that of the world. The remaining 4 were not
statistically significant, due to very limited
class sizes.
This was an exceptional opening
innings, and it goes without saying that the
experience will form the foundation for continuing
to strive for, and achieve, excellence. An
essential measure of the dream has been met
- external assessment of the most rigorous
kind.
Congratulations are well
deserved, and candidates, parents and all
members of the DAIS family can be very proud.
