 An LKG-12 school founded in 2003, Dhirubhai Ambani International School prepares students for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) examinations. The School is also a member of the Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP);
-
The
School’s overarching goal is to provide
an educational environment that is inspiring
and innovative, one that enables children to
enjoy the learning process and challenges them
to bring out their full potential. The focus
always is on children’s all-round development
as well as achieving academic excellence by
integrating into our offerings the best of pedagogical
practices prevalent nationally and internationally;
-
The School believes that talented and dedicated teachers with national, linguistic and cultural diversity will play a central role in enhancing children’s learning outcomes. Our faculty members comprise an excellent mix of experience at leading schools in India and worldwide, and those who have grown and proved themselves in our system over the years. The School has over 200 teachers, administrative and support staff;
-
 The
first seven batches of our IBDP students have
achieved remarkable results in their examinations,
with scores well above the international average.
The Class of 2011 has achieved an average Diploma
score of 37.6 (the highest possible individual
score in the Diploma being 45), whereas the
world average is 29.59 points. 2 students gained
the perfect score of 45 points, a score that
was only achieved by 103 students worldwide.
30 students achieved 40 points or above, constituting
33% of our candidates, as compared to 5.62%
students worldwide;
-
The first six batches of our ICSE and IGCSE students have also achieved outstanding results. In the ICSE examinations of 2011, the School's average score was 92.41%; our topper has scored 96.60% and 83% of our students have scored 90% or above; across all subjects, a significant percentage of our students have scored 91 to 100 (Grade 1), compared to the all-India position;
-
In the IGCSE examinations held in 2011, 87.4% of all grades achieved were A* and A grades, whereas the India average is 38.6% and the world average is 38.9%. All these years our students have topped the world and topped India in several subjects;

 The School has a very active MUN programme. In 2006, our school received affiliation to THIMUN (The Hague International Model United Nations), a remarkable milestone as ours is the only school from India and the whole of South Asia to achieve this honor. The Annual DAIMUN (Dhirubhai Ambani International School Model United Nations) Conference provides opportunities to students to deliberate on contemporary and critical issues the world faces, in addition to developing leadership qualities;
-
The ‘Paigaam’ Peace Conference seeks to build a harmonious relationship with people from across borders; it has significantly contributed to our students’ leadership attributes and global-mindedness;
-
In a fitting tribute to what it has accomplished in taking forward the Round Square IDEALS (Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership, and Service), since receiving Regional Membership in 2008, our School has received the prestigious Global Membership of Round Square in 2010. This new stature has expanded our opportunities to further the ethos of Round Square through broad-based activities and exchanges that the Global Member Schools fraternity presents;
-
The Regular Membership of the Council of International Schools (CIS) that the School received in 2008 reinforces our focus to deliver the highest standards of education;
-
In 2010, our School received Associate Membership of NESA (Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools). An association of 100 private, independent international schools, NESA works towards offering students the best possible education by promoting professional and personal links amongst educators;
-
Our students have brought laurels to the School by winning in many sporting and non-sporting events at the district, state, national and international levels. In 2008 and 2010, the School had the distinction of being adjudged the best co-educational school in sports in Mumbai by the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA), a fitting acknowledgment of our many sporting accomplishments;
-
Our students participate in the International Award for Young People (IAYP) which is an organisation that focuses on encouraging overall development of young adults by challenging them in four areas - physical recreation, skills, service and expeditions;
-
In 2008, the School set up the Dhirubhai Ambani International School Study & Activity Centre at Matheran on a lush green, sprawling 18 acre campus. The Centre is in full bloom, giving our children the opportunity to experience an exciting outdoor environment, to share moments of reflection and to excel in sports;
-
Through exchange programmes, the School encourages students to discover a new curriculum and ways of learning, ability to adapt and be part of a whole new world and experience, expose them to various cultural contexts and provide opportunities for social service. The Annual Exchange Programme with L’Ermitage School, Paris; the hosting of students from the USA under the ‘YES Outbound Programme’ organised by AFS India in 2009-10, and the Student Exchange programme with IES Ramiro de Maeztu and SEK Ciudalcampo International School, Madrid, Spain are part of such efforts;
-
In the furtherance of our objective to adopt the best practices in teaching, some of our faculty members have undergone the Teaching Excellence and Achievement Programme (TEA) in the USA, awarded and organised by the International Research and Exchange Board (IREX), in collaboration with the US government;
-
As part of their engagement with many social causes, our children work with several NGOs including Advitya, Akanksha, Muktangan, Pratham, Aarambh and Aseema. The Dhirubhai Ambani International School Akanksha Centre supports the education of children from slum areas. The ‘Across the Road’ project supports children from such underprivileged areas adjacent to the School in their educational and developmental needs;
-
 Our students have taken up an initiative to construct roads in Hassachipatti (a village near Matheran) and also provide educational opportunities for children there. To facilitate this project, students organised a fete in 2011 and raised substantial funds. Through ‘EVE’ (Empowering Villages Everywhere), our students support villages where electricity is scarce by distributing solar lamps, besides assisting them in education and employment avenues.
